Subject:                                         8-31-26 THOUGHTS

A quality of love is given in our readings.  We are to abound in real knowledge and all discernment.  God wants our religion to be "intelligent and discriminating', to be based on knowledge, and a proper sense of the relative value of objects, as well as to be the tender affection of the heart." (Barnes)  Discriminating is not the same as judging!  Learning from years of practice is a beautiful thought!  It's called maturity.

Php 1:9-11  And this I pray, that your love may
abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,  10  so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;  11  having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Heb 5:14  ESV     But
solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Our Prayer:
Father, may we know You and Your wisdom in all realness, being able to tell the difference between the good and right, from the evil and wrong.  May we strive toward holy.  Train us daily to maturity, that we might possess the skills and purity of heart to overcome.  We love You in the name of our Lord,    Amen.
